About the Patek Philippe 5822P-001
The Patek Philippe Cubitus Ref. 5822P-001 debuted in 2024 as part of the inaugural Cubitus collection, the manufacture’s first entirely new line since the introduction of the Aquanaut. This reference introduces a high-complication configuration within the Cubitus family, combining an instantaneous grand date, day display, and moon-phase indication.
The watch is housed in a square-shaped platinum case with rounded edges and integrated side attachments, measuring 45 mm across (10–4 o’clock) and 9.6 mm in thickness. The case and bezel feature alternating polished and vertically satin-brushed surfaces. A single baguette-cut diamond is set into the case at 6 o’clock. Water resistance is rated to 30 metres. The watch is fitted with a screw-down crown and a sapphire crystal case back.
The dial features a sunburst blue finish with a horizontally embossed pattern. Time is indicated by applied white gold baton-style hour markers and matching rounded baton-style hands, all filled with white luminescent material. A double-aperture grand date is positioned at 12 o’clock, with the day indicated by hand and the moon-phase display integrated into the layout. A small seconds subdial is located at 6 o’clock.
Powering the watch is the self-winding Caliber 240 PS CI J LU. The movement measures 31 mm in diameter and 4.76 mm in thickness, comprises 353 components and 52 jewels, and operates at a frequency of 21,600 semi-oscillations per hour. It delivers a power reserve of approximately 38 to 48 hours. Winding is provided by a 22K gold off-centre mini-rotor. Regulation is handled by a Gyromax balance with a Spiromax balance spring. The movement incorporates six patented mechanisms related to the instantaneous calendar displays and is finished in accordance with the Patek Philippe Seal.
The watch is delivered on a navy blue composite strap with a fabric-patterned surface and contrasting stitching, secured by a platinum Cubitus fold-over clasp.
